A humble prayer

I kneel beside my bed tonight,
I shiver I can feel.
With my hands together and my eyes shut tight
I pray that God may heal.
Heal the wounded that I have hurt
and help me understand,
That I can’t fight this world alone,
I need someone at hand.
I thank thee Lord for the kindness you’ve shown
and watched over me, for I’ve surely known.
And Lord, blessed be the ones that have cared;
who have prayed for me and their feelings have shared.
Lord, I’m no Christian, for I’ve sinned in the past,
but Lord bless the ones who have shown me at last,
that friends can be there, they can be true.
I humble myself, I pray unto you.
Teach them Lord, as I tremble before you,
that life is good and love is true,
I lay down before thee a rosy hue
And I thank thee with the purity of my heart
for giving me friends, who in my life have played a great part. ©
