Fading friendship

Friendship is what makes your life seem whole,

If friendship fails, it tears the soul

Like an empty vessel, dark and endless

You’re scared and alone, and aware that you’re friendless.

Time stands still, but thoughts still travel

Tears subside, but you’re walking on rough gravel.

Like a bird that falls and breaks its wings,

You’re confused and deranged, your heart no longer sings.

No one to lean on, no one to understand

That’s the price of loose grip on the hand

Like oil on a solid, it slips away,

Hard to be found, anywhere, any day. ©
