Time Conquers

I once was blind, but now I see

those words were meant for only me

Time goes by; it does not wait,

I see you now but far too late.

I once was deaf, but now I hear

those loving words so kind and dear

I hear you say you love me so,

the sands of time have run too low.

I once was dumb, but now I speak

those words unspoken, mild and meek

Far too late, the hour has past;

my words are muffled by the clock ticking fast. ©
